Open Gallery Researcher

 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the growth of a unique and innovative moving image specialist gallery, Open Gallery. Part of TVF Media, an award winning media agency located in central London, Open Gallery collaborates with internationally renowned artists such as Sanchita Islam and Roz Mortimer, along with emerging talents within the moving image and new media art circuit – providing a platform to represent and showcase their work.  Open Gallery’s artists have exhibited in numerous locations including the Hospital Club, ICA, the Hayward Gallery and Sketch. In addition, the gallery also creates permanent bespoke installations for a wide range of clients across many sectors and we are actively seeking to expand our roster.

 

Researchers will assist and support the team, help aid its activities and further its development. We are now at an exciting point in growing our collective and the body of work in our collection. You will work closely alongside the Gallery Manager to assist in all practical and logistical aspects of the gallery’s operations and contribute to the continued development and success of the gallery. The role will involve research into a number of areas – from potential installation and exhibition opportunities, to lead generation. Key responsibilities will include organisational support for client and artist meetings, drafting proposals and art fair applications along side other ad hoc administrative tasks such as maintaining our contacts database, updating Open Gallery’s website and contributing to our social media activity.

 

You will need to have a keen eye for detail, sound administrative accuracy and the ability to prioritise your time effectively. In addition you should be confident in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access, and have experience implementing successful cross-platform social media campaigns. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are fundamental. A background or interest in art and the art market, as well as some form of sales experience would be advantageous but not essential.

 

Although these appointments will be for trainee level positions, we will also consider intern posts for those with limited experience if they are sufficiently outstanding.
